The Zahnradbahn runs direct from Puchberg to the sunny plateau of the Schneeberg. Enjoy the journey, whose pace suits the rhythm of the region - tranquil and peaceful, yet which has a spectacular view.
- Chair lift
You can scale the highest mountain in Lower Austria on the newly set-up 4-seater chair lift too. In winter as well as summer it is ideal for descents and those wanting to reach the summit!
For ‘express’ mountain enthusiasts – Make use of this climbing aid – In just 8 minutes you can up to 1545 m altitude effortlessly, and can enjoy the wonderful panorama.
- Hohe Wand
The Hohe Wand is a real paradise for trips with the whole family. While the little ones enjoy themselves in the petting zoo, the active among you get to go climbing, or to head out on a paragliding flight. The ‘Skywalk’ is an attraction – a viewing platform which has been built directly into the cliff edge and which provides an almost view to the depths below.

Culture and Sights
- Schneeberg museum
Get an insight into the folk culture and the everyday life of the ‘early’ Puchberg. As well as the agricultural tools and a ‘Rauchkuchel’ open fire you get to learn interesting facts about gypsum extraction ‘Then & Now’ in Puchberg.
- Schneeberger sawmill
The listed Schneeberg Sawmill with its ‘Venetian gate’ was first mentioned in documents dating from 1631 and in 2007 was restored by the group ‘Friends of the Schneeberger Saw’, in painstaking work, and it can be accessed as a working show sawmill. A guided tour is possible, phone to arrange a date. More information about the saw available at www.schneeberger-saege.at.
- Gauermann Museum
Discover the works of for forgotten artists here, whose topics show the landscape of the Schneeberg region.
- Voka: Atelier Art
Right next to the Schneebergbahn beside the Atelier is a sculpture garden, which provides an in-depth insight into the artistic work of the talented Rudolf Vogl - VOKA.
In the Old-timer Museum run by the Hausberger family, as well as old-timers, ‘young-timers’ are also exhibited. Sightseeing tours can be arranged over the phone. More information on the museum available at www.historische-kfz.at.
- Castle ruins
The story of the Middle Ages comes to life again on a guided tour through the castle ruins, whose emphasis was on the exploration of and representation of medieval living conditions around 1300.
